ABC-7 First Alert: Umbrella on standby as storm chances increase; cold front to follow

FirstAlert-375x225

El Paso, TX (KVIA)- The ABC-7 First Alert remains for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. You might want to grab an umbrella as you head out the door this morning; although some areas saw showers overnight, another round of storms will arrive this afternoon.

Las Cruces saw rain showers this morning, accumulating .25 inches of rain at the airport. The storm cell moved in from the southwest and quickly moved northeast.

The next round of showers will arrive this afternoon around 3:00 p.m.; keep that in mind as you pick the kids up from school or if they have any outdoor activities. A cold front will accompany this system, cooling temperatures for the next few days. Lingering showers will be possible early Wednesday morning before drier air moves back into the region Thursday through the weekend.
