ABC-7 First Alert: Tracking scattered showers and thunderstorms this evening in the Borderland, chances persist through Monday evening

Our ABC-7 First Alert continues in the Borderland for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this evening. We saw a cluster of showers and thunderstorms sweep through El Paso and Las Cruces this evening. Las Cruces received about 0.14 inches of rain, El Paso received 0.05 inches so far.

Rain chances will drop this evening in the Borderland as we lose the daytime heat.

Another chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms is expected tomorrow evening, the best chances will be in the afternoon/evening hours. Our low-pressure system that has brought our daily rain chances will continue to the west which will drop our rain chances after Tuesday and it will heat up around the Borderland this coming week. Highs are expected to rise into the mid 90s/100s.

Next weekend, storm chances may return.
