ABC-7 First Alert: Record-setting cold air dives into The Borderland

It's a record-setting day as cold air pours in the borderland. The wintry
weather will continue as showers and snow move through the area. The earliest snowfall on record in El Paso was on Oct. 28, 1980.

Most of the snow will fall during the morning hours commuters use caution on the area roads.

Las Cruces could see 1 to 2 inches of snowfall, El Paso could see up to 1 inch in some locations. The area mountains could see anywhere from 5 to 10 inches of snow.
The winds will peak around 25 to 30 mph this afternoon wind chills will make it feel below freezing today.

Please remember to check on your family, bring your pets inside, protect your plants and pipes. Afternoon highs will only reach the 30s for most locations.

The system will make an exit Wednesday.
