Numerous Borderland schools delayed for Wednesday morning due to winter weather

EL PASO, Texas -- Numerous school districts across the Borderland were delaying the start of classes for Wednesday morning due to the potential for snow accumulations and icy roads.

Classes Canceled:

  • Clint ISD
  • Fabens ISD
  • Dell City ISD (Hudspeth County)
  • Tornillo ISD

Classes start 1 hour later:

  • El Paso ISD
  • El Paso Catholic Schools
  • Canutillo ISD
  • Anthony ISD
  • IDEA Public Schools
  • Sunshine Christian School, El Paso
  • Triumph Public High School
  • St. Mark's School

Classes start 2 hours later:

  • Ysleta ISD
  • Socorro ISD
  • Gadsden ISD
  • San Elizario ISD
  • Faith Christian Academy
  • New Mexico State University
  • Doña Ana Community College
  • Las Cruces Public Schools
  • New America School, Las Cruces

Classes start at 9 a.m.:

  • Immanuel Christian School, El Paso
  • Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso classes (clinics on regular hours)
  • Bibleland Childcare Learning Center, El Paso

Classes start at 10 a.m.:

  • El Paso Community College

No class delays:

  • UTEP

An ABC-7 First Alert calls for the potential for snow through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service also issued a Winter Weather Advisory as the changeover from rain to snow happened quicker than anticipated on Tuesday night.
