Country fair and Dachshund Stampede returns to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
ANTHONY, New Mexico -- St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is gearing up for their annual Country Fair taking place Saturday, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m.
The main event is the Great Dachshund Stampede and doggie costume contest. Fr. Daniel Cave will also give a blessing for the animals at 11:30 p.m. at 3 p.m.
The church is asking the community to bring canned food and canned food for dogs. Visitors can expect to food like smoked brisket, other goodies, kids games, about 25 vendors, face painting and more.
There will also be live music. Local band Ace & Friends will perform between 12:45 to 4 p.m.
Chico the Chihuahua, the official mascot of the El Paso Chihuahua's, will also be paying the visit at the event.
A portion of the donations from the event will go towards the Humane Society of El Paso.
