El Paso parent believes his 18-year-old son was a victim of police brutality

EL PASOK, Texas (KVIA) -- An El Paso parent says he is disgusted after his 18-year-old son was a victim of what he calls police brutality.

He says officers used a stun gun on his son. It left him with bruises. Police arrested him after officers raided a party he was at Saturday night.

The parent who asked not to be identified told us he taught his kids to respect the law and trust law enforcement are "the good guys." He said after Saturday's incident he and his family are questioning those beliefs.

"When I first saw the video I felt like vomiting," the parent said, "he's got him held down... holding on to my son. He says get out of the truck."

This parent says his 18-year-old son left home Saturday night to attend a high school party that ended with a police raid. The parent says his son made it safely to his truck and put on his seat belt.

"My son is already in his truck. You know the police officer runs, sprint to his truck, breaks his window, pulls him out of the truck, threw him against the wall, and then proceeds to throw him on the floor, jump on top of him, tase him," the parent said.

Still, more officers joined.

"I know according to the constitution police officers are allowed to use the minimum amount of force necessary to protect themselves and bring a suspect into custody. Right?... How is it minimum force if five officers are manhandling one teenager? Throwing him against the wall, slamming him on the floor, then tasing him not once but three times," said the parent.

Police responded with this statement saying:

"The police department is aware of the events that transpired over the weekend on the 3100 blocks of blue dirt. In any instance where an officer uses force, it is documented and reviewed by the internal affairs division. This case is under review, and a statement will be released upon completion."

"100 lbs, 5 or more officers on top of you. I don't see how reviewing, without just seeing the video," the parent said, "You did it. It's done. Why are you gonna review it, if it's plain as day?"

The parent added his son wasn't the only teenager who suffered aggression from police.
