Raul Martinez

Raul got his big break in sports journalism at the age of 17, when he was given the opportunity to do the ABC 7sports segment by then-sports directorLou Romano. From that point on,he was hooked.

Raul was born and raised in El Paso, went to Cathedral High School and graduated in 1999. He then earned a degree in journalism at Texas Christian University, and receiveda masters degreein broadcast journalism from Syracuse University.

“I am a big sports fan,” Raul says. “I’ve played soccer, basketball and golf for most of my life.” He is also a Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks and Texas Rangers fan.

Raul has now realized his dream and is the sports director for ABC 7.
