One person hit by a vehicle in Sunland Park
Update: New Mexico State Police officials provided ABC-7 with the following statement regarding the crash.
"NMSP is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian at Racetrack and Futurity drives. We received the call on 3/11/24 at around 9:20 p.m. Initial investigation indicates a 57 year old male pedestrian was struck by a 2007 Ford pickup. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. He will not be identified until his family has been properly notified. The 45 year old male driver and his adult passenger were not injured. The investigation is still active and no charges have been filed at this time."
SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The Sunland Park Fire Department responded to a person hit by a vehicle Monday. The department said it happened on Racetrack Drive between McNutt Road and Futurity Drive, around 9:15 p.m.

An ABC-7 crew was on the scene, and witnessed a person laying on the road as police and fire closed off the area. Our crew also saw a black pick-up truck with damage to its front passenger side.
SPFD said Racetrack Drive will be closed for several hours. They are asking drivers to avoid the area.
Officers on the scene told us New Mexico State Police is investigating. We will update you on air and online with any developments.
