LC City Manager Facing Investigation
The mayor of Las Cruces says he hasn’t lost faith in the city manager, who could be facing charges in a domestic violence case.
ABC-7 first reported on Tuesday Terrence Moore is now being investigated for an incident reported more than a year ago.
Last week, Las Cruces Police handed the case over the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office.
Moore has not been charged, but he is in charge of the police department, and that, coupled with the fact that the sheriff’s department was just recently notified, has raised questions about preferential treatment.
Mayor Ken Miyagishima says Moore has his support as well as that of City Council. “Right now, I believe Terrence still has the confidence of the City Council and myself…and I think his job is to continue doing his job,” he said.
City Council will meet with Moore behind closed doors Monday, and they will discuss his contract and possibly revise the wording in it.
However, the mayor says those talks are not in any way connected with the investigation.
