TABC Clears Three-Legged Monkey Bar

An eastside bar is out of hot water with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

On Thursday, the agency announced the “Three Legged Monkey” can keep its liquor license.

Neighbors around here had been fighting to shut the bar down, but the TABC says the bar will be making some changes that’ll hopefully bring a little peace around here.

The bar will have to hire private security to patrol the parking lot area. In addition, they’ll have to keep track of the noise levels, and can’t hold any more outdoor parties or promotional events.

The bar will also have to drop their occupancy from 695 to 500 people.

Bar owner Mike Armstrong says he’s fine with that. “…I can run a good establishment with 500 people,” he said.
