County Criminal Warrant Amnesty Period Continues This Week

The El Paso County Sheriff?s Office, in cooperation with the El Paso County Justices of the Peace and El Paso County Constables, are working to reduce the large number of outstanding traffic warrants in El Paso County. The Justices of the JP Courts are offering those individuals with outstanding traffic warrants the opportunity to receive a waiver for the Failure to Appear fine during an amnesty period that began on Oct. 11 and runs until Oct. 22, 2010. An upcoming traffic warrant round up will commence on Oct.24, 2010.

Individuals who believe they have an outstanding warrant as a result of a citation from a Sheriff?s Deputy, Deputy Constable, or Texas DPS Trooper should contact the appropriate Justice of the Peace Office. If you believe you may have a felony or misdemeanor warrant for your arrest, contact the Sheriff?s Office Warrants Section at 915-546-2214.
