2 Women Stranded In Franklin Mountains Rescued

A mountain rescue began at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday night at the summit of Transmountain Road.

El Paso Fire Department officials said 24 rescuers responded to the emergency call placed by the hikers.

According to authorities, two women, both in their late 30s, went hiking at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon when it got dark and they couldn’t find their way down.

Rescuers said the women were not hurt.
