Update (December 26, 2024): Louisville and Washington are arriving in El Paso this afternoon ahead of the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Louisville will represent the ACC and Washington as a PAC-12 affiliate at the 91st Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.

Washington currently plays in the Big Ten, but as a former PAC-12 team, they will fulfill this season's PAC-12's obligation for bowl games. The PAC-12 also has obligations for next season.

The game kickoffs on Tuesday, December 31 at 12 p.m. in the Sun Bowl.

This will be Louisville's second time in the Sun Bowl, but it has not been to El Paso since 1958. The Huskies last time in the Sun Bowl was back in 2002 when they lost to Purdue.

John Folmer, a chairman for the Sun Bowl Football Committee, said he's looking forward for the game, and has heard from Louisville and Washington already about their excitement.

"You know, they're excited about it. Everybody knows how the people of El Paso treat out of town guests. Everybody knows when they run into people at the gas station, calling them up, talking to people here, how great they are, El Paso's a great place, and having Washington come back after having played for the national championship last year, and they're here to play, it's incredible."
