Borderland Resident Killed In Action

A soldier and Borderland has been killed in action.

Officials with the Department of Defense said Army PFC Antonio Stiggins, 25, died Friday after insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Numaniyah, south of Baghdad.

According to his Facebook page, Stiggins was a 2004 graduate of Mayfield High School. He was from Rio Rancho, NM.

Stiggins was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
