3 injured in traffic collision after vehicle breaks down on Gateway East
Two men whose truck broke down overnight on the gateway are now in the hospital with serious injuries.
The men were run down by another driver on Gateway East right by Hawkins at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The driver who allegedly hit them also is in the hospital.
El Paso Police say the two men were lying underneath the truck while trying to fix it when the driver of a car slammed into the back of the truck.
Emergency crews even had to use the “jaws of life” to pull the driver free of the car.
