Second group of migrants land in El Paso
The latest batch of undocumented immigrants landed in El Paso Saturday morning.
Two separate flights transported families from South Texas to El Paso due to an influx of immigrants from Central America. ABC-7 was the only ones at the El Paso International Airport as the first group arrived.
The undocumented immigrants were quickly transported from the plane and loaded onto three buses. It is not known how many arrived.
According to U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement, the groups consist of family units. Now that these immigrants are here, they will be processed by Border Patrol, then turned over to ICE. ICE will decide whether to detain or release them.
According to several volunteers with St. Pius church, some of them will stay at a community center near downtown El Paso.
