Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Week
Investigators from the El Paso Police Department are asking the public’s help in identifying a man responsible for a series of hold ups in Northeast and Central El Paso.
One of the latest robberies took place on Saturday,Aug. 8, when the suspect walked into the Seven Eleven, with a dumbbell wrapped in a towel.
The man began to swing it and threatened to hurt the clerk if he did not do as he said.
The man took money from the register, two thirty packs of Budweiser beer, and three cartons of Newport brand cigarettes. The man was seen leaving on foot. Thursday July 23, the same man, went to the Circle K, armed with a stick.
The man in a similar manner threatened the clerk, and took money from the register as well as beer. Earlier that same week, on Monday, July 20, the suspect robbed a Seven Eleven.
In that case, the suspect was armed with a knife, and took money and cigarettes. There was also a case on Monday, July 6, at the Seven Eleven. In that case, a knife was also used and only money was taken.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height, medium build, has a faded haircut, a mustache and goatee.
