Ex-Border Patrol agent guilty of attempted capital murder
A former Border Patrol supervisor has been found guilty of attempted capital murder and continued family violence.
Alberto Montelongo was accused of trying to kill his estranged wife’s boyfriend. The trial began Monday.
Monteglongo held the couple hostage and shot the boyfriend in the head.
ABC-7 aired live coverage from the standoff scene in Montana Vista when it happened in February of this year.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says it sent in a robot to snap pictures.
Monday in court, investigators told the jury the pictures show Montelongo armed with a handgun and holding his wife Angelica Parra hostage.
The investigators also testified other pictures showed Montelongo’s car parked near the home.
Prosecutors say Montelongo later shot Jesus Rodriguez in the head. Rodriguez survived.
