Sheriff’s deputies made 30 DWI arrests during the holidays

El Paso county sheriff’s deputies made a total 30 arrests for drunk driving during the holidays.

Between Dec. 18 and Jan. 3, 2016, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office used money from the the Texas Department of Transportation to beef up patrols.

According to the sheriff’s office, six of the arrests were made under the TxDOT Impaired Driving Mobilization Grant, and seven were made under the 2016 TxDOT STEP Comprehensive Grant.

The arrests includes:
-12 for driving while intoxicated
-10 for driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content of .15 or higher
-4 arrests for driving while intoxicated, second offense
-3 arrests for driving while intoxicated, third offense or more
-1 arrest for driving while intoxicated with a child 15 years of age or younger
