Margaret Althoff-Olivas dead at 60

Former spokesperson for University Medical Center Margaret Althoff-Olivas has died.

Friends of the 60-year-old said she died of cancer early Thursday.

For more than two decades, she passionately defended the county hospital.

Althoff-Olivas worked at KVIA in the early 1980s as host of ‘PM Magazine’. She also reported for KDBC for many years prior to her job as UMC spokesperson.
