Passenger dies in head-on collision on I-10 in Hudspeth County

The passenger of a car that was going the wrong way on Interstate 10 died after the car collided with tractor trailer, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The crash occurred about 2 p.m. Thursday in Hudspeth County.

Troopers said the driver of the small sports car heading east on the westbound lanes of I-10 and crashed head-on into a tractor trailer.

The passenger of the car, a 48-year-old man died at the scene. The driver, a 41-year-old woman taken to Culberson County Hospital before being flown to University Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the semi was treated for minor injuries.
