Diana Murillo Trujillo elected mayor of Anthony

Diana Murillo Trujillo was elected mayor of Anthony on Tuesday. Trujillo served as a trustee for 6 years and works part-time as a fireworks vendor.

Trujillo won the mayoral race with 31% of the vote, being her four other competitors.

Trujillo said her top priority is to bring more transparency to the town’s government. She also wants to fix the the town’s park, bring back youth programs and open up a baseball field that’s been locked up for the past two years.

Trujillo will serve as mayor for the next 4 years. She will be sworn in at Anthony City Hall on Monday.
