Crimes Against Persons Detectives Investigating Death of 1-Year-Old Child

Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating the death of a 1-year-old child.

Police state officers responded to a home on the 4700 block Loma Grande on a water emergency Thursday around 1:40 p.m. Officers arrived to find Fire Medical personnel performing CPR on the child.

The child was then taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that the 1-year-old and her 3-year-old brother were left by their mother in one room of the home while she was in another.

The 1-year-old was later found motionless in the Jacuzzi by the children’s mother.

The investigation is ongoing.
