Las Cruces doctor indicted on kidnapping charge
information on a las cruces doctor accused of sexual misconduct… with his patients! a grand jury formally charged 62-year-old neurologist robert woody last week. he’s looking at two counts of kidnapping with the intent to commit a sexual offense… and one count of criminal sexual contact. abc-seven’s jamie warren looked over the documents we got ahold of. she is live with our new mexico mobile newsroom. dr. robert woody allegedly is accused of violating the trust of two men who went to him for medical attention. and the men say it all happened in the exam room! that’s what we’re learning from the court documents we got today. here’s what we’ve learned… back in june, one of the men says he went to dr. woody for a scheduled exam. he says the doctor began asking personal and inappropriate questions like… “what’s you favorite sexual position?” and… “are you gay?” th partient says he told doctor woody he was not gay… and claims the doctor said “we will see..” under his breath. th patient claims dr. woody got physical and came on to him… allegedly touching the patient between his legs… thrusting up against his side… kissing his neck several times… and at one point, the patient claims dr. woody said he loved the patient. the documents we got today show this isn’t the first time a patient has accused dr. woody of inappropriate conduct. in 20-13, a different patient… same accusation with sexual gestures and touching. in both cases, woody allegedly apologized to his victims and said he was “just playing.” when called his office today, a receptionist wouldnt tell me if dr. woody was in… … so i left a message. las cruces police are urging any other victims to come forward: “we place our trust in this is person of authority and someone in the medical field and so obviously there is reason for concern. were not completely 100% sure if there are any more victims but if there are if you feel like you’ve been victimized in any way please give us a call.” anyone who experienced inappropriate behavior by him or any other medical professional is asked to call police. woody will face a judge on march 28. jamie and our i-team uncovering details on a story that’s the talk of las cruces. thank you. 78-year-old
