International Jugglers’ Association hosting 69th Annual Festival in El Paso
The International Jugglers’ Association’s annual festival is underway at the El Paso Convention Center.
This is the first time the festival, which runs from July 25-31, is being held in Texas. Organizers are expecting in between 300 and 500 jugglers from around the world to attend.
The festival includes many events throughout the week that are open to the public like juggling championships and free juggling lessons. Children 10 and under receive discounted rates on all show tickets and lessons are free.
Festival director Erin Stephens says she’s excited to hold the festival in El Paso this year.
“We wanted something close to the Mexican border because we’ve been working with a lot of Latin American jugglers lately, so we wanted something where people could come and kinda get that feel of the Latin American scene, but not quite in Mexico. And so El Paso was a great option for that and so far its been amazingly welcoming,” Stephens explained.
A welcome show will kick of the week at the Plaza Theater Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for adults are $30.00 and Children 10 and under get in for $15.00.
Military personal will receive 50% off all tickers throughout the week at The Plaza box office and local Ticketmaster outlets including the Ft. Bliss Ticket Center.
Juggling championships will be held at the Bowie High School track, according to the event’s website.
Tricky Falls will also host variety show nights starting at 11:00 p.m. From Wednesday through Friday night.
