Zoo will offer overnight sleepovers, offer opportunity to catch rare Pokemon that appear after dark
The El Paso Zoo is hosting two Pokmon sleepovers August 12 and August 19 so Pokmon Go users can have the opportunity to catch rare Pokmon that only appear after dark.
The rare Pokemon were first discovered by night workers at the zoo and that’s when the idea of having a sleepover started.
The zoo currently includes 17 “Pokestops” and a gym where players train their characters. Pokemon lure modules will be dropped throughout the night to attract the Pokemon.
El Paso Zoo Content Strategist Clara Cobb says the sleepovers will include a box dinner, a continental breakfast, two behind the scenes tour and a special noctural tour.
Attendees will also get the chance to encounter real animals that resemble pokemon characters. Guests will get to make their own Poke Balls for the animals and watch as the animals catch them.
With only 25 spots available for each sleepover, Cobb says it’s important to sign up quickly.
The sleepover is $57.00 for adults and $53.00 for children under the age of 13. One adult must accompany every five guests under the age of 17.
Cobb says the money made will go to zoo operation such as feeding animals and keeping them safe.
As part of their ticket, guests may come back and catch Pokemon the next day
The deadline to sign up for the August 12 sleepover is Monday, August 1.
The deadline to sign up for the August 19 sleepover is Friday, August 5.
