Bliss soldier stabbed in Union Plaza District dies, police say

The Fort Bliss soldier stabbed in the Union Plaza District over the weekend has died, police said.

Police said two groups of people got into a fight shortly before midnight September 23, 2016. During the fight, 19-year-old Dante Naken Dewayne Long was stabbed on the 100 block of South Anthony.

EMS crews rushed him to UMC where he died. Fort Bliss officials told ABC-7 Long, a private, was from Little Rock, Arkansas. He joined the U.S. Army in April 27, 2015.

There are no suspects in custody.

Investigators need the public’s help identifying the men seen in the photo above. The surveillance image was recorded by a camera that is part of the City Watch Program, which has cameras around Downtown. Police say the men may have information about the deadly stabbing.
