Deputy City Manager of Public Safety resigns position with City of El Paso
Nancy Bartlett, the Deputy City Manager of Public Safety and Support Services, has resigned due to family health concerns, City officials said.
Bartlett submitted her letter of resignation to the City effective May 4, 2017.
Bartlett was the City’s first Chief Performance Officer and had been part of the City’s leadership team since 2014, City officials added.
Bartlett currently oversees the Fire and Police Departments, 911/311 Communications, Human Resources, Information Technology, the Office of Management and Budget and the Performance Office.
The City Manager has appointed Dionne Mack to serve as the interim deputy in Bartlett’s position. Mack will work with Bartlett during the transition leading up to Bartlett’s final day.
“I am confident Dionne Mack will be very effective in her new role,” said El Paso City Manager Tommy Gonzalez. Mack was asked to create a 100-day action plan for the departments she will oversee, the City said
Mack first started with the City of El Paso in 2011 as the Public Library Director. She recently served as Managing Director of Public Libraries and the Parks and Recreation Department and has previously served as the Interim Managing Director of Quality of Life.
