Buckingham Palace calls emergency meeting
Buckingham Palace called a royal household staff meeting, but told The Associated Press that there is “no cause for concern.”
The meeting comes after Britain’s Daily Mail reported an unusual meeting of royal household staff that sparked speculation over the health of 91-year-old Queen Elizabeth II and her 95-year-old husband Prince Philip.
Both appeared to be in good health Wednesday. The queen met with Prime Minister Theresa May at the palace and Philip made an appearance at a London cricket club.
The Buckingham Palace official, who spoke to the AP only on condition of anonymity, said household meetings are called from time to time.
