Police arrest two in connection with armed robberies of 7-11 stores
Police officers assigned to the Central Regional Command Center arrested and charged two El Paso men in connection with two aggravated robberies.
On Thursday, May 4, 2017, 21-year-old Benny Diaz and 25-year-old Miguel Alvarez allegedly robbed the 7-11 at 6060 Alameda just after 3:30 am.
Just after 5 am that same morning, both men allegedly robbed the 7-11 at 3601 Montana.
Investigators say Alvarez was the lookout driver. Diaz allegedly entered the stores, displayed a handgun, and demanded the clerk given him the cash, police said.
Both suspects were taken into custody Saturday, May 6, 2017. Police did not explain what led investigators to the suspects.
Both men were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on two counts of Aggravated Robbery with bonds set at $150,000 each.
