Police: man tries to do friend a favor, gets beaten by man in ‘Jason’ mask
A Houston man had to have his jaw wired shut for 3 weeks after being attacked and robbed while doing a good deed, allegedly by a man in a “Jason” mask.
ABC Houston affiliate KTRK reports Joana Cruz, 20, and Jackson Revelo, 18, have both been charged with aggregated robbery following an incident that took place back in August.
According to the Houston Police Department, Cruz asked 24 year-old Nate Castillo to pick her up for a ride as a favor. Cruz and Castilo were new friends at the time of the attack.
Investigators say when Castillo arrived at the location, a man wearing a mask similar the villain of the “Friday the 13th” films grabbed Cruz. Castillo initially left the scene, but later returned.
At this point, Revelo and two other men allegedly forced Castillo out of his vehicle on onto his knees. Investigators say the men proceeded to beat him with baseball bats and steal his car.
Police later recovered Castillo’s vehicle, which contained the mask inside.
Castillo, who says he was struck 20 times, suffered from a broken kneecap, broken jaw, and other injuries. His jaw had to be wired shut for three weeks as part of the recovery process.
Cruz was taken into custody and currently remains in jail. Castillo alleges to police she set him up for the robbery.
Revelo, a documented gang member, was out on bond at the time of the alleged attack for a previous robbery. A warrant for his arrest has since been issued by police.
