EL PASO, Texas -- The makeshift memorial near the Cielo Vista Walmart for victims of the Aug. 3 mass shooting is being relocated to Ponder Park this weekend, according to a city representative.

Peter Svarzbein, the District 1 member of city council, announced the development in social media post on Friday afternoon. (See it at the bottom of this article.) No other details were immediately available.

Walmart, which plans to re-open the Cielo Vista store on Nov. 14, is in process of erecting a permanent memorial called the "Grand Candella" in the south-side parking lot of the store.
