Pedestrian struck, injured at Las Cruces intersection for 2nd time in a month
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- A man was hospitalized after being struck by a car at a Las Cruces intersection on Friday evening.
The victim, who was hit about 6 p.m. at Telshor Boulevard and Claude Dove Drive, was rushed to the hospital but there was no word on his condition.
Police said they were interviewing the driver of the car at the scene to try and determine what happened.
It was the second time in less than a month that a pedestrian was struck by a car at Telshor and Claude Dove.
A-73-year-old man was seriously injured on the morning of Oct. 15 while crossing at that intersection. Police cited the driver who hit him for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
It was also the second Friday night in three weeks that saw a pedestrian struck on the streets of Las Cruces. 58-year-old Jose Alberto Carillo was killed by a pair of hit-and-run drivers on Oct. 25 while crossing the street at N. Solano and Juniper.
