Las Cruceans donate supplies for firefighters battling Three Rivers Fire

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico — The Three Rivers Fire near Ruidoso is attracting attention across the state especially Las Cruces. Community members are doing what they can to help. 

The Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and other organizations are coming together to donate what they could to help firefighters battling the blaze. 

The fire nearly doubled in size in the last 24 hours. 

The Chamber of Commerce asked for donations of water, snacks, even basic clothing like socks. Thousands of pounds were donated after the chamber put out a message on social media. 

Volunteers packed up all the goods Wednesday morning and made the trip to Ruidoso to drop them off.
