New Hampshire governor helps save man choking on lobster roll at eating contest
MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) — A man says he’s grateful New Hampshire’s governor came to his aid when he started choking during a lobster roll eating contest. Gov. Chris Sununu says Monday that he performed four or five Heimlich maneuver compressions on Christian Moreno before first responders took over. Moreno recovered and resumed eating at the Hampton Beach competition on Sunday. Participants had 10 minutes to eat New England sandwiches stuffed with lobster and served on a hot dog-style bun. Moreno says he ate about two when he started choking and tapped his chest. Sununu rushed out a short time later to help.
