A look at mental health response in Southern New Mexico

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) — With the passing of LCPD Officer Jonah Hernandez, questions have come up about mental health needs in southern New Mexico. ABC-7 has been reviewing the mental health response policies of different agencies in the Las Cruces area, and speaking with officials about the mental health needs of the commuity.


Avery Martinez covers mental health in the Borderland as part of ABC-7’s Be Mindful initiative. He is also a Report for America corps member.
