Central El Paso clinic now offering drive-thru virus testing
EL PASO, Texas -- The MD Medical Group announced Thursday that it was launching drive-thru coronavirus testing at its North East Clinic of Central El Paso located on Cohen Drive.
A spokeswoman told ABC-7 that the drive-thru clinic will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., but emphasized that appointments are required. You can call or text 1-888-776-5252 to make an appointment.
"Implementing a drive-thru location will allow us to test adults and children, 2 years and older without spreading the virus and reduce the demands on hospitals," said MD Medical Group spokeswoman Jessica Olivo.
MD Medical Group offers primary healthcare services to families at five El Paso area clinics, but the drive-thru virus testing is only being offered at one location.
"The decision to offer drive-thru testing protects the patients we will continue to serve at our clinics— children, their family members with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic," Olivo added.
