CVS pharmacy vaccine slots fully booked in El Paso

UPDATE, Feb. 11: CVS's vaccine appointments in El Paso were fully booked early Thursday morning, about an hour after registration opened.

People were allowed to register online at CVS.com or by phone at 1-(800) 746-7287, starting at 5 a.m.

The pharmacy will begin administering the vaccine on Friday.

All vaccines are given by appointment only., CVS said, adding that those without appointments will be turned away.

It's unclear when the pharmacy will receive more vaccines.

UPDATE, Feb. 8: CVS drugstores in El Paso will now start to administer the Covid-19 vaccine on Feb. 12, which marks a two-day delay from what was originally announced.

In addition, the pharmacy company now says registration for appointments will open on Feb. 11 online at CVS.com or by phone at (800) 746-7287.

All vaccines will be given by appointment only and registrations can only be made on the 11th, no calls will be accepted in advance.

In a statement issued Monday, CVS cited a "shipping delay impacting participants in the federal pharmacy partnership program."

ORIGINAL REPORT, Feb. 2: EL PASO, Texas -- CVS drugstores in El Paso will start to administer the Covid-19 vaccine starting next week, but they won't be taking walk-ups.

Eligibility is based on the existing state of Texas criteria, which currently includes healthcare providers and first-responders, those age 65 or older, and those over age 16 with chronic health conditions.

On Feb. 9, you can register for the vaccine on the CVS web site or through their app. If you don't have online access, you can contact CVS customer service at 1-800-746-7287.

Vaccinations will start Feb. 11.
