Over 50% of eligible El Pasoans are now fully vaccinated

EL PASO, Texas -- The Texas Department of State Health Services dashboard as of Thursday afternoon reflects that 50.9% of those eligible in El Paso are now fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

It's a milestone moment with over half of those able to get a vaccine doing so.

How does El Paso stack up in the region and the nation?

El Paso outpaces Texas, where the state says currently 40.25% of eligible Texans have been vaccinated.

In New Mexico, the state also hit the 50% vaccination mark as of Thursday afternoon equaling the Sun City's achievement.

El Paso's vaccination rate is far above the national average, which currently stands at 35%.
