El Paso sees 1 new virus death as active cases dwindle
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced one coronavirus-related death and 31 new cases Thursday morning.
El Paso County's pandemic death toll now stands at 2,624 with the latest death of a man in his 60s. There are still 11 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.
El Paso health department data shows that 57.8% of El Pasoans 12 and older are now fully vaccinated, with 71.5% having received at least one dose.
The number of known active cases now stands at 513.
There are 52 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals, with 21 of those patients in intensive care units.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 136,303 confirmed virus cases in El Paso with 133,075 reported recoveries.
