Special Session About To End

AUSTIN (AP) – The Texas House met briefly today as lawmakers prepare to head for home after once again failing on school finance reform.

The latest 30-day special session is scheduled to end tomorrow. A judge last year ruled the current share-the-wealth funding system is unconstitutional.

The state later appealed to the Texas Supreme Court. Now legislators expect to wait until the high court rules before considering their next step on how the public should pay for schools.
