Heavy Rain In Area Forces LC Park To Close

EL PASO, TX- Heavy rains are slowly moving into the Borderland area once again.

Due to public safety concerns resulting from rising water in the Rio Grande, the City of Las Cruces has temporarily closed La LLorona Park located along the banks of the Rio Grande at Picacho Avenue. The park will remain closed until the water level drops.

Teresa Souza, spokeswoman for the El Paso Electric Company tells ABC-7there are scattered power outages throughout El Paso right now.

There is a westbound right lane closure on Doniphan Rd. (SH 20) to Canutillo (FM 259) Desert North from Trans Mountain (Loop 375) to Vinton Rd. Desert South from Great American Land & Cattle to Trans Mountain (Loop 375) I-10 @ Piedras both east and west bound, traffic is moving slow due to flooding
