Sun City Soaked Again Sunday

EL PASO, Tx. – In what is becoming an all too familiar story for Borderland residents, thunderstorms, rain and heavy runoff again hit the Sun City overnight.

Due to the heavy rains, the entire area remains under a flash flood watch from the National Weather Service. According to the NWS, consistent rain during the overnight has brought nearly an inchof rainof measurable rain so far at the El Paso Airport.

With the soaking rains around the regionovernight, to the all-too-familiar scenes of flooding and multiple traffic tie-ups were repeated all around the area’s roads.

Police tell ABC-7 they responded to fender-benders all over town. On the west side alone, police investigated at least eight collisions.

Emergency crews tell ABC-7 that in one crash – two cars collided with a van, causing it to overturn. Emergency medical crews say no one was seriously hurt.
