City Gets Progress Report On Storm 2006 Clean Up

EL PASO, Tx. – The city gets a progress report on the clean up from Storm 2006: Progress is being made, but there’s still work to be done.

City Council received a presentation Tuesday from the Streets, Engineering, and Environmental Services Departments. Each department reported it’s making progress, but will continue to recover from the strong summer storm.

Roughly 5 months removed from the storm and runoff, roughly 400 tons of debris are moved each weekend from a stockpile collected from the Mowad area. The Streets Department reports repair projects are nearing conclusion on Shadow Mountain and the Glory Road drainage.

City Crews also are working to repair the Clint Kandfill which will be inspected by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on December 28th.
