LCPD Arrest Two On Child Abuse Charges
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The mother of a 21-month-old and her boyfriend were arrested Friday on warrants issued for their arrests on child abuse charges.
Sharday Vince and Joshua Corrales, both 22, of 1118 Jett Ave. in Las Cruces, were arrested Friday evening on warrants stemming from a May 2007 investigation of child abuse of Vince’s then 18-month-old son. Las Cruces Police arrested Vince at 3530 Foothills Rd. and Corrales at Harty Field on West Hadley Ave.
Vince faces three counts of child abuse and Corrales is charged with one count of child abuse. Both were arrested and transported to the Doa Ana County Detention Center where they have since been released on bail.
The charges against Vince and Corrales stem from a Las Cruces Police investigation that revealed Vince’s son had several fractures to his head, wrist and right leg, and visible bruising to both sides of his face. The young boy also had injuries to a foot that required medical treatment.
Custody of the boy and Vince’s three-year-old daughter were turned over to Child Protective Services.
