Saturday Morning Stabbing On EP’s Eastside
EL PASO, TX. – Police arrest the man responsible for a weekend stabbing at a local sports bar at a home in the Mission Valley.
Officers from the Mission Valley Regional Command assigned to the Patrol Division arrested 29-year-old Samuel Salas without incident. Salas had an outstanding warrant for Criminal Attempt Murder.
Investigators say that Salas allegedly began arguing with 33-year-old Raul Arturo Contreras of El Paso outside of the Hiney’s Bar and Grill. The altercation became physical and that iswhen investigators allege Salas produced a knife and stabbed Contreras multiple times in the torso.
Contreras was somehow able to make his way westward, arriving at the Hooter’s restaurant near Cielo Vista Mall. As he tried to make his way into the eatery, witness saw the profuse bleeding and contacted emergency medical personnel. He was later rushed to R.E. Thomason Hospital where he is recovering.
This case was investigated by the El Paso Police Department Gang Unit. Salas was turned over to investigators from the Gang Unit and booked into the El Paso County Jail wherehe is being held under a $120,000 dollar bond.
