Child Hit, Dragged By Pickup Truck

DONA ANA, N.M. – Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Officials say a 5-year-old boy wasstruck Thursday afternoon after riding his bicycleinto the front of a pickup truck traveling through an alleyway.

DACS officials say Brian Ray Martinez got his bike caught under the front end of a pickup that stopped immediately, but then tried backing up, dragging the boy. Luis Lopez, Jr. the 16-year-old driver of the truck stopped after 10 feet.

Martinez was airlifted to R.E. Thomason Hospital; his condition is currently unknown.
