1st Day Of Class For Rebuilt Middle School A Difficult One
EL PASO, TX. – Students at a brand new campus on the east side of town say their first day of school was downright misearble.
Students and parents ABC-7spoke with say Eastwood Middle School was so packed, many students were left with no place to sit. School officials said they acted quickly to address the issue, and that additional desks were available and by 9 a.m., all students had desks.
Another complaint, lunch lines so long, some students didn’t get to eat. Administrators blame the long and slow moving lines on a malfunction in the lunch check out system. But despite the rough start, some students and parents still find a silver lining.
“The more people there are the more friendsI can make,” said one young middle schooler. “It’s only the first day, so it might get better,” parent Monica Chavez said. School officials say they apologize for the inconvenience, but they want to assure students and parents the problems will be fixed.
