Fire Destroys Popular Socorro Bakery
SOCORRO, Tx. – Mission Valley fire crews were called out to an intense Saturday night blaze at apopular Socorro-area bakery.
According to fire officials, the fire hit theHaynes Bakery on the corner of Moon Road and Haynes. The owners of the bakery tellABC-7 they were making menudo lateSaturday night when one of the employees turned on the blender, and an electrical fire broke out.
The owners added that the flames burned out the brick oven and the back wall of the building.They add thata boutique next door also caught fire.
Thehusband and wife, who have run the bakery for the last 20 years, say theywill rebuild and hope to be reopenas quickly as possible.
