Mexican Trucking Lines Granted Complete Access To US Roads
EL PASO, TX – Mexican trucking lines will now be able to carry cargo anywhere in the United States.
The plan by the Bush Administration was originally a part of the 1994 “North American Free Trade Agreement.”
Some experts say the plan will benefit U.S. consumers and hurt American workers. Opponents of the plan have been fighting against it since before it ratification. They believe the “open border policy” will hurt safety, jobs and the U.S. trucking industry.
Supporters say the new policy will benefit both countries because U.S. trucks will also be authorized to enter Mexico.
The plan will go into effect Thursday, September 6th.
